Polling percentage in LS elections 2009 - Phase 1

The country witnessed phase-1 of the general elections to the 15th Lok Sabha on April 16, 2009 covering 124 parliamentary constituencies in 17 States and Union Territories. The remaining phases will be on April 23, 30 and May 7 and 13. (Click here to see election schedule in Bihar)

This phase covered Andhra Pradesh (for 22 Lok Sabha seats), Assam (3), Bihar (13), Kerala (20), Maharashtra (13), Orissa (10), Uttar Pradesh (16), Chhattisgarh (11), Jharkhand (6), Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya (two each), and Jammu and Kashmir (1), Manipur (1), Mizoram (1), Nagaland (1), Andaman and Nicobar Islands (1) and Lakshadweep (1).

Overall voter turnout in the country : 58% - 62%
